What is wrong with us?
As I sat at dinner tonight I observed something. That when someone is found to not like something, everyone else is inclined to do that action or use that word just to annoy the person. So I must ask the question, is that right? Is that fair?
Is that what we are called to as Christians? To latch onto someone's pet peeve and run it into the ground, inciting annoyance at the very least and going possibly as far as anger?
I would humbly suggest that we not do such things. That instead, we respect their wishes. If someone doesn't like Charlie the Unicorn should we automatically and relentlessly throw every quote we can think of from it at the person; or switch to a different topic of conversation. And if a person doesn't like a word or phrase, do you use it obsessively and far too often; or should we find out why the person doesn't like the word or phrase and then refrain from using it?
Why do we do such things?

Because we're insensitive human beings who care very little for the thoughts and feelings of other human beings. Plus, we like reactions.
But I'm not sure if you were actually looking for an answer or not...
